1. Introduction
Welcome to ListeningDrill AI ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by Neointro. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the application immediately.
2. Information We Collect
a) Account Information
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your public profile information: email address and display name. We use this solely to identify your account within the app.
b) Audio Recordings
ListeningDrill AI uses your device's microphone exclusively for in-app shadowing and pronunciation practice. Audio is recorded locally on your device while you practice repeating English sentences. We do not transmit, store, or share your voice recordings on any external server.
c) Usage & Content Data (stored on our servers)
- Media files (audio/video) you import — processed then deleted from our servers immediately after AI processing is complete
- AI-generated transcripts, subtitles, and word analysis results (auto-deleted after expiration)
- Credit balance, purchase history, and subscription status
d) Locally Stored Data Only (never sent to our servers)
- Audio recordings made during shadowing/pronunciation practice
- Study logs and session history

- Device type and operating system version (for compatibility)
- Firebase Cloud Messaging token (for push notifications)
- App crash and error logs (anonymous, no personal data)
e) Payment Information
All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not receive or store your credit card or payment card details. We receive only a transaction receipt/token from the respective store to verify and fulfill your purchase.
f) Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data to understand how users interact with the app and improve our service. This may include:
- Screen views and feature usage patterns
- Session duration and frequency of use
- App version, device model, and OS version
- Crash reports and performance data
Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized. It does not identify you personally. You can opt out of analytics collection in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Analytics; Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization).
g) Advertising Data
The app may display advertisements served by Google AdMob. To serve relevant ads, AdMob may collect and use:
- Advertising ID (IDFA on iOS / GAID on Android)
- Device information and coarse location (country/region)
- App usage and interaction data
Users who have made any in-app purchase or hold an active subscription are shown no advertisements. Advertising applies only to free-tier users. You may opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.

4. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and operate the ListeningDrill AI service
- Authenticate your account via Google or Apple Sign-In
- Process AI tasks (transcription, translation, word analysis) on your imported media
- Manage your credit balance and subscription status
- Send push notifications about completed AI tasks
- Analyze app usage patterns to improve the service (Firebase Analytics)
- Display advertisements to free-tier users (Google AdMob)
- Improve app stability via anonymous crash reporting
- Verify in-app purchases with Apple or Google
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your account data, AI results, and credit records are stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database with Row-Level Security (RLS) enabled — ensuring only you can access your own data.
Audio recordings made during shadowing practice are stored only on your local device and are never uploaded to our servers.
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS) for all data in transit. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.

7. Data Retention
We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal content and usage data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. A minimal record (email, account identifier) may be retained for fraud prevention and legal compliance as described in our Account Deletion page.
Local audio files and study logs are stored only on your device and can be deleted at any time from within the app or via your device's file manager.
8. Advertising & Your Choices
Free-tier users may see advertisements delivered by Google AdMob. Users with any active subscription or purchase are ad-free.
You can limit ad personalization through the following device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalized Ads
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalization
Opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads entirely but limits their relevance to your profile.
9. Children's Privacy
ListeningDrill AI is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will promptly delete it.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and associated personal data
- Opt out of analytics and ad personalization via device settings
- Withdraw consent by uninstalling the app and contacting us for account deletion
